Professional tool reviews for professionals

Cordless drills are one of the tools that everyone needs from DIYers to industrial professionals, but they are not always where you need them. The DeWalt 12V Max Cordless 5-in-1 electric drill driver is designed to solve all these problems.

Choosing to develop a multi-head drilling rig is an easy choice, but you have to make some important decisions from the power source. In this case, DeWalt chose to use its 12V Max battery system to work. It is not as deep as the 20V Max series, but they have been building it steadily, and it is a more compact build platform.

From there, the rig driver gets a brushless motor to take full advantage of the features provided by the 12V battery.

The end result is a multi-head drill less than 5 inches long, equipped with a 2-speed gearbox, 450 or 1500 RPM speed, and 15 clutch settings to help you get the power you need. However, we have no official information on how much torque it has.

Of course, what is important is the versatility of DCD703. DeWalt 12V Max Cordless 5 in 1 electric drill driver comes with 4 accessories, you can use its fifth function without any accessories.

Without accessories, it is a compact 1/4 inch hex screwdriver, about the same size as an impact driver. In fact, you can eject a 1/4-inch hex twist drill there, but it is not as secure as a 3/8-inch chuck, so we will stick to a screwdriver bit with no attachments. A 90° right angle attachment is provided with 1/4 inch hex offset and 1/4 inch quick release chuck (impact driver) head.

The benefit of right angle and offset attachments is that you can rotate them to multiple positions to get the angle of attack you are looking for.

The estimated retail price is US$179, with a 2.0Ah battery and charger kit. As usual, DeWalt provides a 3-year warranty, a 1-year service agreement, and a 90-day money-back guarantee for this tool.
