Worthington, Ohio, November 3, 2021 /PRNewswire/ - Hyperion Materials & Technologies, the world's leading materials science company, develops hard and superhard materials for a wide range of industries and applications, today announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Aggressive Grinding Service (AGS), which is a precision cemented carbide and ceramic grinding business located in Pennsylvania.

Founded in 1988, AGS is located approximately 45 miles east of Pittsburgh at Latrobe. It offers a wide range of professional grinding and machining capabilities, including surface grinding, centerless grinding, outer diameter (OD) and peel grinding, and wire Electrical discharge machining (EDM) and wheel dressing services. The company has about 90 employees who operate the latest advanced grinding and processing equipment.

AGS will strengthen Hyperion’s capabilities and leadership in multiple high-growth markets, including custom and preformed carbide bar stocks for drilling and end milling tools, as well as finished wear-resistant parts, such as canning tools for the metal packaging industry .
