NFL Draft 2023: Eagles land Will Anderson in Draft Wire’s latest mock

The Eagles are 4-0 and thinking about a deep playoff run, but it’s never too early to look ahead to 2023.

Draft Wire unveiled their latest two-round mock projection for next April, and Philadelphia restocks on both sides of the football with three of the SEC’s most dynamic playmakers.

With their two first-round picks, Howie Roseman addressed two needs and further upgraded an already talented defensive unit.

In the second round, the Birds add to an already talented running back room, adding a dual threat from Ole Miss.

The Saints’ 2022 struggles could become the Eagles’ most dynamic draft pick in ages.

The only undefeated team left in the NFL gets the best overall player in the draft? That just doesn’t seem fair. Alas, that’s what could happen if the Saints don’t turn things around, because their first-round pick already belongs to the Eagles. Anderson is an elite pass rusher who only falls this far because quarterbacks are just too valuable.

Philadelphia has T.J. Edwards under contract and could look to extend Kyzir White, but the younger Sewell would be worth allowing both players to walk in free agency.

Yes, we know Howie Roseman doesn’t spend first-round picks on linebackers. But maybe he should? Nakobe Dean was a bargain in this year’s draft, but the Eagles could still use another three-down playmaker at the second level. Sewell would be a steal this late, too.

The former TCU running back could be the gem of the SEC in 2022 after transferring to Ole Miss.

A 2022 Preseason All-American and All-SEC candidate, Evans saw action in 15 career games for the Horned Frogs, with eight starts at running back, while averaging 7.3 yards per carry on nearly 150 rushing attempts.

Evans gained 1,269 yards with ten touchdowns on 164 touches with TCU.
