It can be said with certainty that the BMW R 18 has left its mark on the cruiser market. Like its American competitors, large BMW bicycles are becoming a popular base for custom manufacturing. But these modified motorcycles do not just stick to the formula of a retro cruiser. For example, Rolands Sands turned the R 18 into a dragster. Now, a Russian store has made a customized BMW R 18 that will not look out of place in the Batman movie.

Customized BMW R NineT '801' by Zillers Garage | Motorcycle

The Russian shop Zillers Garage is not only suitable for BMW bicycles. For example, the store won the 2018 AMD Custom Bike Manufacturing World Championship with Yamaha. However, recently customized BMW motorcycles have been in tears.

For example, in 2020, this store created the 801, which is a fierce BMW R NineT that looks like something from a sci-fi steampunk anime. Earlier this year, Zillers Garage released another R NineT. Called 301, it is not as extreme as 801, although it shares some design elements with earlier versions. Bike Exif pointed out that although the 801 only has the R NineT engine, final drive arm and part of the frame, the 301 is more like a bolt-on customization.

With its latest customized BMW motorcycle project, Zillers Garage has more 801 than 301. To a certain extent, this is part of the store design brief, Bike Exif contemplates. BMW Motorrad Russia commissioned the earlier 801. When it came into contact with Zillers Garage to make the BMW R 18, it asked the company to make something similar.

Therefore, please consider the completed tasks.

Like 801, Zillers Garage did not touch the BMW R 18's power system when manufacturing this custom motorcycle. Therefore, the cruiser’s 1802cc air-cooled/oil-cooled boxer twin-cylinder engine can still produce 91 horsepower and 116 pound-feet of torque. It still has a six-speed manual and shaft drive. But this shop basically modified or replaced everything else.

First of all, this customized BMW R 18 now wears a carbon fiber suit and uses CNC milled forged aluminum wheels. But the carbon fiber cover is not limited to the main body of the motorcycle. The rocker arm and front fork are also covered. In addition, Cruiser points out that these wheels are larger than standard BMW R 18 wheels. The stock cruiser has a 19-inch front wheel and a 16-inch rear wheel; Zillers Garage's wheel sizes are 21 inches and 19 inches, respectively.

In addition to the carbon fiber panel, Zillers Garage also equipped the BMW R 18 with a larger customized fuel tank. By the way, the bicycle's speedometer is integrated in that fuel tank. Although the Boxer engine was not affected, it now has CNC machined lids and custom titanium exhaust pipes. In addition, although the brakes are in stock, Zillers Garage has installed new rotors and brake cables. In addition, the cruiser has a new seat, radiator, LED headlights and taillights, CNC machined handlebars and front fork triple fixtures, and rod end mirrors.

However, Zillers Garage's customized BMW R 18 lacks one thing: side brackets. But that's because it doesn't need one. Like the 801, this R 18 is equipped with the store's custom air suspension system. Therefore, when it is parked, it will lean against some metal spikes embedded in the skid plate, Cruiser explained. When it is necessary to set off, the cruiser will rise to the appropriate driving height.

Although BMW Motorrad Russia commissioned the R 18 to be customized, Zillers Garage does not just manufacture one of the motorcycles. It not only made 801 or 301.

Remember NMoto, the Florida store behind those Art Deco style R NineT kits? Zillers Garage is working with them to provide turnkey and kit versions of custom R 18, 801 and 301. Also, if you want a leaner cafe racing bike with Zillers air suspension, it's a bomber.

Whether you are doing turnkey or DIY for these customized BMW motorcycles, you must act quickly. At least for R 18 and 801 versions. Although NMoto and Zillers Garage will produce as many 301 kits and bombers as possible, they only produce 13 examples of R 18 and 801. Although buying one of these bikes does not require Bruce Wayne's wealth, they are not entirely cheap.

If you want the R 18 kit, the price starts at $44,900 before custom options and donated bike costs. As for the 801, the kit starts at $49,900, while the turnkey version starts at $69,900. However, other customized BMW R NineT motorcycle models are relatively cheap. The 301 kit starts at $8,999, while the price of a turnkey bike is $35,000, which includes the cost of the donor R NineT. The bomber is only available as a build; it starts at $34,900.

Nevertheless, at least buying a motorcycle suitable for Batman is not as expensive as buying his car.
